ABOUT ME
I am a freelance journalist based in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. I hold an MFA in creative writing from CalArts where I completed my first novel. I have published more than 400 stories in dozens of magazines including Rolling Stone, Outside, the Los Angeles Times Magazine, Maxim, and Bicycling as well as cover stories for Spin (Daft Punk), FHM (Paris Hilton), Men’s Fitness(Jesse James), WWE (Stone Cold Steve Austin), and Mean (Mickey Rourke, Katie Holmes). In general I write about people, places, and things at the limits of human experience. My work ranges from in-depth features to interviews to travel to gear testing and all points in between.

I began telling stories using video in 1997 when I wrote, directed, and produced The Wrath of the Ironhands, a feature-length kung fu movie. More recently, I’ve created numerous web videos and hosted and co-produced several sports TV pilots. To view some of my videos including a re-scored, re-edited digital remix of The Wrath of the Ironhands, click on the video tab above or click here.

My hobbies include reading, writing, producing electronic music, graphic design, drawing, painting, urban exploration on bike and foot, full moon gatherings, and racing road and mountain bikes. I train with Olympian David Brinton (www.ridingtowin.com) and race as a Cat. 3 on the road and Sport in the dirt.
